Imagine paddling through that beauty for a full 10 kilometres, far from crowds and everyday life. That is the Zrmanja River – one of Croatia’s most beautiful rivers and the perfect destination for a kayaking and rafting adventure.

What Does the Trip Look Like?

The entire trip lasts 4 to 5 hours and covers a beautiful 10 kilometres of paddling through the Zrmanja River canyon. The route is designed so that every participant, regardless of experience, can enjoy the nature, calm stretches of the river, small rapids, and spectacular canyon views.

The trip is suitable for children aged 6 and above, making it an ideal family outing. A guide accompanies you the entire time, ensuring safety and showing you the most beautiful spots along the route.

Premium Option: Hidden Waterfall on the Krupa

For those who want even more adventure and wish to see something truly special, we offer a premium option – paddling to the hidden waterfall on the Krupa River. This spectacular waterfall is hidden deep in the canyon and inaccessible by road, making it a true reward for those who choose this extended route. The premium option adds an extra touch of magic to the entire experience and allows you to see what most tourists never will.

When Is the Best Time for the Zrmanja?

The kayaking season on the Zrmanja runs from spring to autumn, but the real question is – what do you want from your trip?

How to Get There from Zadar? An Ideal Full-Day Trip

One of the great advantages of a trip on the Zrmanja is its proximity to Zadar. The drive from Zadar city centre to our base takes only one hour, meaning you can set off in the morning, spend the whole day in incredible nature, and return to Zadar in the evening feeling completely refreshed.

This is the perfect opportunity to make the most of a full day in nature – the combination of driving through the Dalmatian hinterland, an active day on the river, and relaxation afterwards makes this trip the perfect alternative to a classic beach day.

Logistics: How Does Transport Work?

Since the trip finishes at a different location from the start, we’ve organised a transport system that depends on the season:

Off-Season (April – May)

During the off-season, we make every effort to transport the entire group to the starting point. This means you don’t need to worry about a thing – we drive you to the start, you paddle to the finish, and your vehicle is waiting for you at the destination.

Summer Season (June – September)

Due to the higher volume of work in the summer months, we adjust the logistics as follows:

  • Families and groups of friends (more than 2 people): We drive one group member to the starting point to pick up the vehicle you arrived in and drive it back to collect the rest at the finish.
  • Couples and bookings of 2 people: We drive both of you together to the start so you don’t feel lonely at the finish while waiting for your partner to return with the car.

The drive from finish to start and back (finish–start–finish) takes a total of about 40 minutes.

What Awaits You After Paddling?

After 10 kilometres of paddling, you’ve earned a rest! At the finish, a relaxation area awaits where you can:

  • Swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Zrmanja
  • Rest and enjoy the peace of nature
  • Have something to eat and refresh yourself with a cold drink
  • Change into dry clothes and get ready for the journey home

This is the perfect way to round off a day on the river – no rush, surrounded by untouched nature.

What to Bring on the Trip? Preparation Checklist

Good preparation is half the battle! When arriving at the base, it’s important to have everything you need for a comfortable day on the river. Here’s what every guest must bring:

Important: Every guest must wear a T-shirt under the safety vest, as hygiene is very important to us. Also, leave your set of spare clothes in the car or at the finish – you’ll need them after the trip!
