INFORMATION

Sea kayaking Croatia doesn’t get much better than this. In eight days you will visit five small islands of the Sibenik Archipelago and swim in the clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, enjoying the stunning sunsets and meeting locals. You paddle about 20 km per day, visiting the islands of Prvic, Zlarin, Obonjan, Kaprije, Tijat, Zirje and Zmajan on your way. A modern way of life has not yet reached these islands so you will have a unique opportunity to get a glimpse into the past and learn about the traditions and history of the area.

Sea Kayaking Croatian Islands 1

ITINERARY

DAY 1 – Arrival to the Destination – Skradin

The first day of Sea Kayaking Adventure starts in the town of Skradin. We will organize your transfer from Split or Zadar airport, bus, or train station. Once you settle into your accommodation, we will meet for a welcome dinner and presentation of the week’s program.

Accommodation: Hotel;  Transfer: Split 90 min or Zadar 45 min

DAY 2 – Sea Kayaking – Skradin to Jadrija and visit Šibenik

We get ready and start kayaking from Skradin to our first destination – Jadrija city beach. From Skradin we kayak through the Prokljan Lake and through a long channel passing the town of Sibenik and its magnificent fortresses. Jadrija beach is famous for its retro charm, colorful beach cabins, and relaxed atmosphere. It was originally established as a city beach in the 1920s and has maintained its old-school Adriatic vibe, making it a beloved getaway for locals and visitors alike. At Jadrija we will relax and explore a bit, before heading to Zlarin Island for an overnight.

Accommodation: Guesthouse; Sea kayaking: 4-5 hours; Distance: 25 km

DAY 3 – Sea Kayaking – Sea Kayaking around Zlarin Island towards Obonjan

We start our day by circling the island of Zlarin, exploring its many secluded beaches and coves. Zlarin Island, a hidden gem in Croatia’s Šibenik archipelago, is known for its pristine nature, coral heritage, and car-free tranquility. Throughout the day we have plenty of opportunities to stop for swimming and in the afternoon we have time to explore the island. Zlarin is the perfect escape if you love nature, culture, and an authentic, laid-back Adriatic experience. At the end of the day we paddle towards Obonjan Island for an overnight.

Accommodation: Guesthouse; Sea kayaking: 4-5 hours; Distance: 25 km

DAY 4 – Sea Kayaking – Obonjan Island to the Islands of Zmajan and Kaprije

Our next destination is Kaprije Island and we stay in its only settlement – the village of Kaprije. Just like Zlarin, the island is car-free and the only car allowed on the island is that which belongs to the local fire department. The deep bay of Kaprije Village is a popular boat destination so village cafes and restaurants are quite lively. We also visit the island of Zmajan, an uninhabited island close by, before returning to Kaprije for the night.

Accommodation: Guesthouse; Sea kayaking: 4-5 hours; Distance: 25 km

DAY 5 – Sea Kayaking – Paddling to Žirje and back to Kaprije

If you ever wondered what going back in time feels like – you will love our next destination – the island of Zirje. Zirje is the farthest inhabited island of the Sibenik archipelago, and with only 80 permanent residents on the island, it is as far from mass tourism as it gets. It’s relatively ignored position as a tourist destination has left it looking like a film-set from the past and a wonderful place to visit for a day. We return to Kaprije for the night.

Accommodation: Guesthouse; Sea kayaking: 4-5 hours; Distance: 25 km

DAY 6 – Sea Kayaking – Kaprije to Prvic Luka

We depart from Kaprije Island and make our way to Prvic Island. We will stop for a rest and a walk at the village of Prvic Sepurine – a picturesque coastal village with narrow stone streets, old houses, and a small harbor. Explore the village’s labyrinth of narrow streets, visit its 16th century church of St. Roch, or just relax on the beach before leaving for Prvic Luka for the night.

Accommodation: Hotel; Sea kayaking: 4-5 hours; Distance: 25 km

DAY 7 – Sea Kayaking – Take a circle around Prvic and Tijat islands

On our last days in the archipelago we take a circle around Prvic and Tijat islands. Prvic got its name by being the first island closest to the mainland. It is famous for its culture, it has four Roman Catholic churces, two located in Šepurine and two in Prvić Luka. You can also visit a museum dedicated to the parachute inventor Fausto Veranzio, who originated from this small island. Tijat island on the other hand is uninhabitted and its mostly owned by the people from Šepurine. We will stop at Tijasnica bay – a beautiful, turquoise water place for swimming and snorkeling. Enjoy it’s secluded coves and explore the shore, before heading back to the hotel.

Accommodation: Hotel; Sea kayaking: 4-5 hours; Distance: 25 km

DAY 8 – Sea Kayaking – Heading back to Skradin

On the last active day we head back the place where it all started. We will not go back through the same channel we went through on our first day but we finish our trip in the bay called Zablaće. There we make a transfer back to the town of Skradin. Enjoy your last day with exploring the narrow, cobblestone streets, buy some souvenirs and taste the ice-cream. In the evening we will enjoy a farewell dinner together to share our impressions and memories.

Accommodation: Hotel; Sea kayaking: 4-5 hours; Distance: 25 km

DAY 9 – Departure

Our final day has come. We will arrange your transfer to the airport if you are flying back home. If you decide to spend more time in Croatia, our guides will be happy to recommend other beautiful places to visit – especially those you won’t find in tourist guidebooks. We hope to see you again soon!

Transfer: Split 90 min or Zadar 45 min
