ITINERARY

DAY 1 – Arrival to destination, Primišlje village

Our trip begins in Primišlje village at our base house where we’ll gather up. After a short introduction to our trip for the next two days, we will pack everything we need and get to the starting point of the trip. To reach the upper canyon of the Mreznica River between Primislje and Trzic, the most beautiful part of the river right in the wilderness, you need a little more effort. The adventure takes us through a gorge so narrow and deep that the sun enters it for only a few hours each day, around noon, creating spectacular light effects. We will bypass cliffs of carved white rocks, lush vegetation and cascading waterfalls, strong freshwater springs and pools of water which are great for swimming in summer. The second highest waterfall on the Mreznica (8m) is a magical place ideal for swimming and jumping where we’ll make a picnic break. We continue our river expedition downstream to the confluence of Touncica and Mreznica River where our camp is located. Our next steps are changing into dry clothes, putting up the tents and preparing for dinner.

DAY 2 – Continuing our expedition downstream

This morning after breakfast we continue our kayaking expedition down the emerald Mreznica River. The journey meanders through a spectacular landscape of lush forests and open meadows. The day will be filled with swimming, jumping off the waterfalls and enjoying the beautiful nature. Clear emerald water, unspoiled forest and magical landscapes – that is Mreznica, one of Croatia’s finest and clearest rivers, ideal for kayaking, canoeing and rafting. This typical karst river with numerous travertine waterfalls interspersed with calm water can reach 27 degrees Celsius in summer!

Due to its biological diversity and variety of habitats, the Mreznica area will soon be categorised as a nature park. After this long but beautiful and challenging day on the river, we finish up at the Zeleni Kut restaurant where we have time to change into dry clothes and relax while having lunch. We depart home after.

Kayaking: 17 km; 4-5 hours, moderate to challenging

Group size

Min 4 – max 16 people per group; larger groups are on request. Minimum numbers apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there is not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund. In case the minimum number of participants is not met but the guest/s still want to do the trip, the price increases by a percentage depending on the final number of participants.

Accommodation

You will be accommodated in the camp Slap on the bank of the Mreznica River. Located in the heart of beautiful preserved nature, this unique canyon attracts attention and admiration of all visitors. It’s a perfect harmony between man and nature. We will provide tents and sleeping mats. There is no better place to relax and enjoy than the beautiful preserved nature of the river bank.

Air Travel

Please check with us before purchasing your airline tickets to ensure your trip has the necessary minimum number of participants required to operate.

Meals

Meals tend to be fairly heavy on the meats and sausages, breads and pastries, pastas and dumplings. If you have special dietary needs, please let us know as soon as possible. Vegetarian diets can be accommodated but we recommend that you bring along with you some of your favorite protein snacks.
