Cycling Dalmatia Adventure Holiday

Great time for a Cycling tour

Spring and Autumn (Fall) are magnificent times on the Croatian coast for a cycling tour. The majority of the tourists have not arrived yet and there’s plenty to see and enjoy before the Summer season. On this Cycling Dalmatia Adventure Holiday, you will cycle and see few islands in the Zadar region, magical Krka river and have an opportunity to try out rock climbing in Paklenica National Park. If rock climbing is not to your liking, you can opt to hike Plitvice National Park instead.

We provide trekking bicycles for the tour, but you are free to bring your own if you wish. If you are not sure about your fitness level, have no fear. Every day there will be a van tailing the group and picking up those who do not feel like cycling anymore.

Short Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival to destination – Murter Island
Day 2: Murter island background
Day 3: Dugi Otok
Day 4: Plitvice or Paklenica National Park
Day 5: Optional Free day
Day 6: Murter to Sibenik

Cycling Dalmatia Adventure Holiday Highlights

national parks: Krka National Park, Paklenica National Park and Plitvice Lakes National Park | islands: Murter, Ugljan, Dugi Otok | Old town Sibenik and Biograd

Day 1

Arrival to Murter Island

A representative from Jamming Adventures will pick you up at the Split airport. You can spend the afternoon exploring Jezera town before meeting your guides and the rest of your group in the evening.
Meals: D; Van drive: 2h from the airport
Day 2

Murter Island background

After breakfast we start our first cycling tour at 10AM. The first day is the easiest day and we only have 30km ahead of us. We'll do a circle tour, starting and ending in Jezera. We'll avoid cycling on the main roads. We'll stop for lunch along the way, but we'll finish at 2 PM. In the afternoon, those who are interested can join us in exploring the city of Zadar.
Meals: B; Distance: 35 kilometers (21 miles); Elevation gain: 169 meters (554 feet)
Day 3

Dugi Otok

After breakfast, we'll drive about 35min to take a ferry to Dugi Otok Island. Dugi Otok translates to Long island in English. And this is what our day will look like. It's 40km of cycling that will last till 5 PM with a lunch break somewhere in the middle of the tour. Usually, this distance can be covered in 2 hours, but we'll take some time to explore this beautiful island with the highest cliffs in the area. There are also some very nice beaches on the island, so if the weather permits, we'll do some swimming too.
Meals: B; Distance: 40 kilometers (24 miles); Elevation gain: 612 meters (2007 feet)
Day 4

Paklenica or Plitvice National Park

After three days of cycling, we'll take a break and do a few different things. Everybody can decide for themself; rock climbing school in Paklenica NP or a trip to Plitvice NP. Both locations are awesome to spend the whole day. Lunchtime depends on the tour you take, and details will be sorted out the day before the trip.
Meals: B; Van drive: 1,30min;
Day 5

Optional Free day

Take another bike or kayak trip or visit the bigger cities (Split, Zadar, and Šibenik) near Murter. Or just relax in one of many bays on the island. You can also choose either rafting, river kayaking or one-day sailing. Please note that none of the additional activities is included in the price and all of them require a minimum of 4 people.
Meals: B
Day 6

Murter to Sibenik

After breakfast, we'll cycle from Murter Island to the town of Vodice. We'll stop for lunch in Vodice and finish our tour by cycling to the town of Jadrija. If we finish in time, we can take an opportunity to walk around the town of Šibenik and have dinner in this beautiful town. An hour ride back to Murter for good night's sleep.
Meals: B, Distance: 35 kilometers (21 miles); Elevation gain: 187 meters (613 feet)
Day 7

Krka National Park

Last day we left for Krka national park. It's again an hour or so drives from Biograd to the park, but then we spend the day cycling in and out of the park. There's plenty of routes in the park, and we'll make sure to pick one that will suit the best for the group. And, if weather permits, we'll do some swimming in the river (when safe and allowed), with a view on waterfalls. Lunchtime depends on the exact route and will be in the town of Skradin. We apologize for upfront, but we will have to enforce responsible drinking once we get to a winery.
Meals: B, Distance: 36 kilometers (22 miles); Elevation gain: 274 meters (898 feet)
Day 8

Departure

Unfortunately, everything comes to an end and this will be the day we have to say goodbye to each other. However, we will take you to Split airport in the morning.
Meals: B; Van drive to the airport: Split 2 hours
